There are still older plans available in the app. Don't know why it is not visible to you.
But, well, all plans from Airtel are no way pocket friendly for a postpaid customer.

I'm still stuck with the airtel postpaid. I see no reason to have a postpaid for myself when i have unlimited internet at home.

So i just received the following sms from Airtel
"Hi, effective 17-Jul-22, your current Airtel Mobile plan will get revised to Family Infinity 1199 Plan. The new rental will be Rs.1199 and you will enjoy unlimited calls, 240 GB data with roll-over, 3 free family add-on & 100 SMS per day. Also, enjoy Amazon Prime for 6 Months, Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix Basic & much more, T&C*. For more information, visit Infinity Plan ₹1199"
I am currently on 999 family plan with 3 addons and 1 data add on which i never activated.

I don't like them offering two different plans to two different customers for the same price. 1199 plan otherwise only offers 2 free addons and 150gb data.

I agree. Guess they do that to avoid porting. Had they shifted me to a higher plan where i would have to pay for the now extra addon, it would have added close to ₹500 to my existing plan and i wouldn't have thought twice and ported out.Now i feel its ok paying around ₹250 extra(from my current 1180) plus some extra benifits of ott.
Btw i subscribed to their hanset secure thingy(1yr free) dont plan to ever use it hopefully but kinda comforting for my new s22 ultra as subscribing to extra insurance for accident and water damage would have cost a bomb

I recently switched from Prepaid to Postpaid and added my wife’s number to the plan as well. So the plan is 699+18% GST, INR 824.82. For one number, 412.41 effectively.

What I’m unable to understand is the benefits. Because earlier, I would pay around 859 for 84 days and get 1.5GB data per day which I wouldn’t use majority of the times. Wife was on an even cheaper plan.

The other services listed above, as per my understanding, are one-time. For example, once the 100GBs are used for Google one, that particular benefit ends. The same would be applicable for others. Right? I’m really not able to see much value here.

The other benefits are as per their time frame. Like 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. After that those bemefits will get removed. Prepaid provides more value if you use less. Postpaid provides more value if you use more mainly 4G data in this case i.e. 105 GB shared between you and your wife and unused data gets rolled over every month. Other than that you get priority service compared to prepaid users. You can benefit from some cashback if you have the Airtel Axis card which will bring down the bill to around 619 per month which gives much more value than prepaid plans for the most part.
