Airtel replaced my ONT and now suddenly they're claiming I've exhausted my data cap

@jonoldman

In a different location, I have Airtel Fiber Postpaid Connection with ZyXEL AOT5221ZY ONT.
IPv6 has been working fine from the start.
I believe this is direct connection from Airtel and not through a LCO, as this location is inside Chennai city proper.
I do not have either Static IPv4 or Bridge Mode enabled here as well.

Latest update: Just got off the call with the Airtel Relationship Manager.

They agree that the problem could be with new router or at their end (it's recording correct data usage now btw)

So they are telling me to opt for a booster pack (Rs 300 for 500 GB data) BUT she said that Airtel will waive off that charge so I won't have to pay anything.

I've asked her to send this information over email as well so I have a written record of their waiver offer.

Question: Would this actually restore my speed? I've read a few posts in the past that said that even after getting the booster pack, nothing really changed.

Also, does anyone know HOW can I buy the pack? She said I can do it on the Airtel Thanks app but I'm not seeing that option anywhere.

Anyone with experience in this matter, please let me know

In fact, just now I got an Sms that Rs 300 has been credited to my account

Hehe. First time I'm hearing of this booster plan since they proactively sold data packages few years ago 😵‍💫

@vpsj booster data? bhai be aware might be scam. Also tell them to email you about that money will be waived off and ask where is this recharge option? Is it an airfiber setup?

@Kaiju404 They already sent me the money. In my Airtel billing Area it says "Rs -300" due, so at least I'm not losing any money

No it's a normal Fiber system. But I still don't see any option to buy this plan. I have asked Airtel CS on Twitter as well, let's see what they say

Worst case scenario I let it run my connection at 1Mbps for 5-6 more days and next month bill gets reduced by Rs 300/- lol
