Following continuous attacks by militants on telecom towers and employees associated with the industry in Manipur, the tower service of Airtel company has stopped its operations in the state.

Recently, unidentified militants torched an Airtel tower at the Langol game village in Imphal.

If people leave Airtel, it will automatically shut down down.
They havent shut down yet, so they are doing something (Quality of service) right

I don't think Militants have any personal grudge against Airtel.They have targated most of the telecom companies in past 24 months.It's sad to see that people are taking such violent actions to express their protest.Funny thing is no one bothers to find out why they are doing so.

Private sector hardly exist in Manipur and these militants are making the situation worse.Their intention is to get attention, and they have found a way which is working like a charm.
 
Let us hope it will not happen in other states. Almost all states have some problem like Maoists, rightists etc.
