Why is Airtel Chennai repeatedly spamming customers with unsolicited marketing calls? On an average I receive 3 calls every week trying to sell me a higher plan
The call follows the same script every time - "You are currently in 2099 plan and we had to raise rates by 10% due to TRAI license renewal. To give benefit to customers , we have introduced a new plan which costs Rs 2849 for 175 GB 8mpbs. "
They claim that the 2849 plan rental was not increased recently which is a blatant lie. The plan used to cost Rs. 2599 before Airtel raised rates.

You can report calls. But then you are a customer so it comes under services I use category I guess.

Another thing you can do is to keep add those numbers to your block list :D I do it with a bunch of companies that contact me repeatedly.

Yeah. It's silly they lie about the tariff for the higher end plan not being hiked. I've also pointed it out when they call me with such offers.
I'm on Turbo 175 which now costs Rs. 2649 (earlier it was Rs. 2399). They usually offer me Turbo 250 which costs Rs. 3399 (earlier it was Rs. 3099 only).
But, they will talk as if the tariff for Turbo 250 hasn't been hiked. They probably think we're gullible people. I tell them every time that I'll migrate to Turbo 250 if they give me Rs. 500 discount. This isn't unprecedented. In 2009, Freedom 2999 (2 mbps unlimited but FUPd to 100GB in 2011) was priced at Rs. 2999. At first, I didn't want to migrate from 1mbps unlimited (which I think was around Rs. 2222). After a couple of months. they gave me Freedom 2999 for Rs, 2499.
Come to think of it, my airtel bill has hovered around Rs. 2500 forever. And the speeds are still stuck at 4mbps. What a shame!

lol. prices increase but speeds and data doesn't. that's my story for the last few years.

i am more concerned about missed calls crap from inter. no.
and spam lottery sms, wondering why they cant ban the dam operator with such no. to begin with. !
