Airtel STB loses connection

My Airtel SD STB loses connection. The screen goes black (no a/v just name of the channel and program guide at the bottom) after few hours of usage. I have to plug out and plug in to get it working. Is there any fix? The connection is not completely lost as I can change channels.
 
I will see to it. The STB is also giving slow response while changing channels and sometimes no response. I am also planning to replace the remote.
1.) Will Airtel replace the STB and remote. I don't know the warranty period but it is around 4 years old.
If they will not be replacing, i will upgrade to HD STB.
2.)Are there any offers on upgrade apart from the usual ones, like anyone got after negotiation or otherwise?
