Airtel Stops Offering 100 SMS /Day In Smart Recharge Prepaid Plans

Yes, that is the case.
I used to keep my number active by recharging for Rs 48 (3Gb data) once every 3-4 months and to check the speeds as well.

I don’t plan to recharge it now and am happy for the number to die it’s slow death. Checked with customer care - the minimum you need to recharge with is Rs 129 unlimited plan (not even the Rs 19, 2 day plan). SMS is blocked on all the plans below that. You cannot use your talk time to send SMS. There is just no way to send SMS on any plan less than 129.

This is pure greed. TRAI needs to jump in.

Gone are days when I use to recharge my Idea number by Rs 100 and it would last for 4-5 months (as calling/data was handled by Jio ;)).
Now its difficult to own multiple sim cards.

How about an en Masse tweet to Airtel to roll out a number retention scheme akin to Jio Prime? Seriously in 5 years, not one teleco thinks it's a brilliant idea by Jio to make people pay just ₹100 for securing your incoming call benefits for a year?

Even BSNL cuts ₹2 every 3 days to keep number active. Masterstroke by Jio. Idk how it follows TRAI rules though, which clearly states number must be disconnected after 6 months of non usage.

airtel has killed the 79 rupee plan as well. there was another talktime plan which is gone as well. only option is to do 20/100/500 recharges now if you just want talktime. crazy.

I recharged with the 49 pack just a few days back. I use it to keep my second number alive.

They have reduced the talktime with ₹79. Last month I recharged, it gave a tt of ₹128, now it's ₹64.
Not only that, I lost my entire 35gb of data accumulated overtime with ₹48 data pack due to some shit policies.
Airtel seriously needs to divorce this ARPU guy!!
