Airtel to offer FUPed unlimited local/STD landline calls for Rs. 49/99 per month

How long you have had this Airtel connection? How many GB of high speed data transfer you're getting?

i have used airtel for more than a decade now. but this connection is just a few months old. i pay around 1500 bucks for 15GB data and yes it's horrible. i can try applying for disconnection and get a better plan through the retention department but i am avoiding going there. i can switch to bsnl but they do not appear to have anything that is significantly better and migrating to them comes with additional headaches. this connection is used by my dad on his chromebook. he gets really annoyed if his connection drops for even a few minutes during market hours so airtel works well for his need. his usage i doubt is more than 4-5GB so i am considering switching to the 8GB plan and take the 99 rupee std topup.

airtel is indeed capable of responding through email!

I noted that, as per our records Topup-Unlimited Local and STD pack @ Rs. 99/- is activated for the above mentioned number with effect from 02-06-2015.

- This is an Auto Renewal Top Up.

- Top up charges and discount will be on a Prorata Basis

Now Airtel broadband plans mentioned unlimited calls as below:
Calls: Unlimited
Local: Included
STD: Included

Does it mean broadband rental include cost of unlimited voice calls?

I don't see any FUP on voice calls either.

i applied for a new connection last week and they said i need to pay 99 extra if i need the free calls. its not compulsory

FUP is 5000 minutes per month iirc. Of course, Airtel prefers to use the term unlimited.

I talked to CC. New plans that have unlimited calling, no additional rental is applicable. For old plans that do not have unlimited calling, additional 99 rental is applicable.

There are 2 conditions to continue unlimited free calls offer:
a. In a week, there must not be more than 300 distinct dialled numbers.
b. In a week, it is must to have incoming calls of minimum 15 min duration.

There is no limit on number of minutes for local/std. No 5000 min limit.
