I also have big bytes on my VDSL. My upgrade to fiber is due within 10-15 days. Today while speaking to a line technician, he told me to exhaust all my big bytes before the upgrade as they will lapse after that.
Did they called you for upgrading to fiber from VDSL? or should we call requesting to check we have feasible for fiber line?

Which Area and State?

@gomfi and @asdftest , Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

OFC wiring in my area finished in December itself. A day or two back, my VDSL was hitting very low speeds in single digits, so I had raised a complaint. When the technician visited next day, I had asked him when are they going to switch me to fiber. He told to just hold with copper for maximum 10-15 days and they have to just connect the fiber to "main line" pending some more fiber wiring surrounding my area. When I asked him about whether I have to call, he responded "no need" and that I will be getting a call a day before. He himself will come to install everything along with wiring person who will be clamping, drilling, etc. He also discussed upon the future path of the wire from the street where I wanted some changes but no changes in drill holes (enough of old drill holes which can be reused).

He told me to exhaust all plan data plus big bytes as the data will be reset upon fiber upgrade.

@Sam27 Could you share the image of the Airtels Fiber Distribution Box Picture from the outside (there will be one near your home) and what is it written on their Fiber Cable (if you can read or capture the image)?

Thanks.

@gomfi, here you go...

You can see wire is marked "Bharti Airtel Limited." The manufacturer otherwise is some company called Sterlite ( Optical fiber cable | Fiber optics cable | Optics Cable | STL ), which is also written along with Airtel.

Today I checked the plan in My Airtel App,
Not sure if it's momentary glitch or not, but the plan got updated to 40 Mbps - 105 GB from 8 Mbps - 30 GB.

man i would love to get the 499 plan. i am not getting good speeds on my router for some strange reason through airtel. works fine when connected directly on my pc. paying 800 bucks for just landline is so much stupidity but airtel won't give me a landline only plan.

are you already on v-fiber? because 40mbps would require v-fiber... i think airtel was able to give 8mbps on adsl. i never had that option.
