The picture quality of HD channels on Tata Play looks rubbish on modern 4K TVs. DTH services typically offer 1080i resolution, not 1080p, so one should not expect higher quality. I believe the situation would be similar with Airtel or other DTH providers because they all utilize the same old coaxial cable infrastructure.

I’m not just talking abt channels, but the ui, apps and whole other things associated with that box. Even videos being played on ott apps look terrible. Tried to change several settings and doesn’t improve anything. Maybe the box itself is crap.

You can ask Airtel to replace the box if that's the case. If that doesn't work then maybe get a firestick for OTT streaming and a normal HD STB for cable TV.
