Greetings all brdrs

I was effortlessly using Zoiper on my Airtel Xstream connection since mid-2023 as my voice was based on IPv4 and I had replaced my router first with a G7 and AX53 and then an OpenWrt router.

But like a week ago, I noticed that my Zoiper isn't connecting and that I'm unable to ping even the SIP servers for Bangalore viz.10.5.70.3 & 10.5.70.19.
To rule out any config issue on my end, I connected Airtel's ZyXEL WiFi 6 ONT back to check if voice is working on it and guess what? It wasn't working on it either.
I then proceeded to call the Airtel CC and shared my concern with them and asked them to push the voice config from the back-end once again. And trust me, I didn't like what I saw after they did that, even one bit😮‍💨😮‍💨

Stupid Airtel folks had shifted my 2.5 years-old connection's voice from IPv4 to IPv6, out of the blue, with no way to find out the SIP server addresses as the Zyxel crap is locked asf🫩

Now what I need is someone living in Bangalore whose voice has been shifted to IPv6 as well and who's using something like a Sercomm or a GX Titanium router to check their VoIP settings and share the IPv6 SIP server and outbound proxy address 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I'd be really grateful if someone can check that ASAP 🥹

Just checked mine yesterday only as I am planning to buy a ONT, It's still on IPv4 , but it's an old connection so not upgraded yet. Heard this from a friend also that they are updating this from back end so before changing g the ONT need to keep this in consideration, so it's supported.

Yeah, then XX530v, for now, doesn't support IPv6 VoIP.
So, avoid buying it, if using VoIP is one of your primary concerns.

And thanks a ton for checking, brdr🙏🏼

Did your friend say whether Airtel will be updating the existing Landline VOIP connections from IPv4 to IPv6, or is it only in case of configuring the ONT (due to replacement / factory reset) ?

They are making this change throughout India, brdr. It's has nothing to do with ONT replacement or factory resetting.
My voice with IPv4 was working perfectly fine up until a few days ago, and all of a sudden it stopped working. I suspected it might be a password change thing (Yes, they are also changing VoIP passwords now to make it more secure) but no. It was because my voice was shifted to IPv6.

Folks I know in J&K and NE also had their voice shifted to IPv6. So, they are gradually rolling out this change.

@ka2107 It's the same what others have called out. They are upgrading and making changes from backend. Hence the shifting to IPV6. It may take them time, but slowly they will make the change across .

Brdr, Zoiper may be able handle it, but we need the SIP server addresses to check.
And as I have a ZyXEL WiFi 6 ONT, the visible changes are just the static IP addresses (IP, Gateway) for Voice WAN profile. These are now IPv6 ones, earlier they were IPv4 addresses. That's all.
I'll share a picture as soon as I get the chance to boot the Zyxel ONT up.
