I’ve been using Airtel Xtreme Fiber for a few months now, and they gave me the Sercomm AOT-4221SR router, which worked fine for the first few days. But after that, I started having problems. Oracle Forms wouldn’t load, some banking websites wouldn’t open, WhatsApp messages wouldn’t send, and the CP Plus camera app wouldn’t show the cameras. I had to restart the router a lot to get things working again. After several complaints, Airtel replaced the Sercomm router with a Nokia G-2425-G, which works better, but the issue with the CP Plus camera app still happens. I can’t access my cameras over Wi-Fi, though they work fine on mobile data (Airtel prepaid). Since the router settings are limited, I can’t change much, and I’m still not sure what’s causing the problem. Any help would be really appreciated, as this has become very frustrating.

I figured out that an MTU mismatch was causing the issue. My cameras are connected via Ethernet with an MTU of 1500, while my phone is connected to Wi-Fi with an MTU of 1465, due to the added overhead from network protocols and security. Sometimes, the packet size exceeds 1465 bytes, coming from the cameras connected via Ethernet, which causes it to stop working. To fix this, I set the MTU on my DVR to 1465, and now everything works fine.

To check the Wi-Fi MTU, you can use this command: >ping 192.168.1.1 -f -l 1500 and it returns "Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set." Which means router is not allowed to pass packets over 1465 bytes.

Guys do correct me if I am wrong here.

I believe the MTU should be 1492 for normal PPPoE connection.

@ka2107 you are right. I think it has something to do with my DVR's configuration. It showed me 1465 as mtu on wifi, so I changed to it. Since then I am able to access all the cameras.

Brdr, this MTU-affecting-the-CP-Plus-cameras is an issue I'm hearing for the first time 😔
What I suggest is, you reset your DVR and try setting it up again😅

@tr1k0N4 bro are you on telegram or discord? I think you mentioned your username somewhere in your youtube video. And btw thanks for the reply it means a lot.

I am also facing a similar issue. I have Dasan H660GM Airtel router on which internet works fine. However, when connecting it to CP plus DVR through LAN, it works for a few minutes and then DVR goes off-line. Also, the CPPlus DVR shows that the connection is not being established, could you please help?
