I would like this very much. Jabong has very little chance of survival on their own.

Probably not. But the fact remains Jabong is the biggest fashion related online brand in India along with Myntra. And now that Flipkart owns Myntra, Amazon needs a similar brand to stay competitive in this market.

According to sources close to Jabong, the e-tailer, which has raised $180-190 million from German incubator Rocket Internet, Kinnevik and UK’s development financial institution CDC, is being valued at $600-700 million.

Amazon in USA has several sub brands focusing on different segments of the market. It is a smart move. You cannot have a single brand associated with 10 different product segments. Individual smaller brands focused on specific categories gives you more visibility.
