An Airtel Customer Experience which is worse than Reliance

I was having same issue 4yrs back. I pulled off the cable and DP outside my house. Left no sign of any connection there and chased away the monkeyass executives of airtel when they came for collection ;)

Well I am waiting for them to come for collection coz I am not paying them a single penny now. ::rubbing hands in anticipation::

I went through the same quality of customer support in January, 2011 when they took around 40 days to replace a faulty modem/router. They field staff just like to close the support tickets without resolving the complaints. Which is basically fraud with the customer.

Another one bites the dust.. I had a similar problem early last month. I had asked for a IPTV connection to be installed, but after promising me quick installation, they faulted and I decided to cancel the Installation. This mind you happened in May. Early last month, my phones went dead, but my internet was still working. I pay for 2mbps but was getting only 1 mbps. So obviously I placed a complaint. To my bad luck, their bloody back end operations were having its ' periods ' and so nothing was being processed/solved. Everyone I spoke to gave me a different reply. Some guys said its a virus issue, some said " please delete cookies " , etc... I finally got their full attention when I threatened to cancel the connections, then the bend over backwards tactics started. Retention department was a real pain to talk to. They just don't to listen, only want to say sorry and ask for more time. One of them even managed to find out what the problem really was. It turns out, when I had asked them to cancel my IPTV, those idiots gave my whole connection for cancellation. WOW, how smart for a company with over 5 mil customers. Then I asked her to cancel and she asked for 1 last chance and that within 8 days, the connection will be activated. I agreed. After 11 days, nothing... And on the 12th day ( yesterday ) , I called CC, got connected to retention department, gave them some exclusive maa/behan wikipedia and told them to shove the connection where the sun don't shine ( that felt really good ) .I'm not yet completely free yet, its a 45 day procedure ( isn't it funny, how you have to wait for everything nowadays, new connection-wait, problem registration-wait, problem solved-wait, cancel connection-wait...amazing) I decided enough is enough, Airtel is what we've made it. And what do we get in return, a freakin complaint number. I already shifted from Airtel Mobile to Idea and am glad I made that decision. And am sure that I will not regret this either. Cheers everyone.

the trouble is there is no freaking alternative to Airtel out here.... Where else would you head to.. Reliance?

Where are you from?

In today 3g world you can get endless possibilities regarding internet acess, anywhere!

I'm from Bangalore, Your right, the alternatives are as good as being non existent. But I've got another cable broadband connection through ACT TV. They have been in Bangalore for sometime now and have been a cable company, like hathway. They've just started broadband services. I'm on a 5 mbps Unlimited plan ( FUP upto 35 GB ) paying 999/- pm + tax . Speeds reduced to 256k once FUP is crossed. I've been using it for 2 months now, Speeds are as promised, consistency is what I'm worried about. There have been days where it gets disconnected and takes quiet a while before it can be used again. I guess it's ok since they're new, and over the last year or so, I was having the same problem with airtel. Since disconnecting from airtel, I'm already thinking of getting the 2 mbps plan which 849/- pm + taxes ( FUP 25GB post which speed is 256k) , or else, 3g is also in full flow now here, will be checking out some of those options as well.

@bbfreak: mate. Airtel 3G is the best of the pathetic 3G service providers in the NCR region. No point using effectively non-existent 3g and paying a bomb for the same.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ. Airtel has gone to the dogs. Some idiot rang me up on the mobile from the CC and bordered on abusing me and almost dared me to try out the consumer court way.

looks like ive run into a setup which consists of nothing but jokers. Another idiot called me up and apologised. Has "promised" to send someone to look at the problem.

Airtel customer service in Mumbai specially at Malad (W) Link Road area is another joke.I wonder why Airtel even approaches new customers when they have no qualified technicians or even support staff to provide a connection at first place.I agreed for Airtel broadband connection 4mbps unlimited with contingency ratio 1:1, paid them Rs. 1099/-, I was promised by their sales guy Mr. Ravi, connection within 3 days and after more than 1 weeks gone and just one wire man turning up to join existing cables at my residence there were no soul even bothered to call up or inform if they have any plans to configure my connection. Repeated calls to the customer services failed to make any difference at their Interface office from where these guys operate. The sales guy's job was done, he keept ignoring calls refusing to explain anything, this same guy used to make frequent calls requesting me to sign up for Airtel broadband connection. I am new to the place and this guy lied to me that most of the residents in the building are using Airtel broadband connection later I figured out only few who were using Airtel connection have now switched to another broadband providers. On putting request to refund my money I am told it would take 45 days to cancel my services that was not given to me at first place.
