These scams always existed post independence. Its just that they are being highlighted these days by media. I call that power of media !! :) . Btw is the second scam after satyam which we saw in Private company. But I am not amazed by this!

well you might be giving too much credit to the media. media has been involved in some of the scams and they have been 'not reporting' about others.

from what i see they are part of the system. if you are connected to the scam, you are not going to talk about it. your rivals might.

yes that human nature. Nobody want to talk about his mistakes/scams/cheating with a pride . But media scams, whatever it may be are not greater than scams which are done nationally. :)

argh. this is not a scam. government is not involved. corporations are not involved. a guy working in citibank committed fraud. citibank is liable for any losses. no one loses except the guy who did it all. and since there are no political connections at least for now, he is unlikely to get any protection from any angle.

Yep, its not government fraud... something like Telgi....but Telgi had connections! May be this guy has too, only time will tell.

He got 13 years of prison and some 202 crore fine, scam was of 43000cr, so 202 cr wud probably be nothing for himhe is HIV positive and some claim that police was responsible for this and police wants to eliminate him.Source: Wikipedia.

Next step will be govt. coming up with guidelines on what all can be categorized as a scam, even a scale to measure it, like upto 100 crores - level 1 scam , 100 - 500 level 2 and all.... :)
