And why again is Airtel better than Jio?

I’m truly curious.

People say Airtel is better than Jio, Airtel has better routing, bla bla bla. I don’t understand why.

Ping:

Jio has better international ping than Airtel. And pretty much everybody has better international ping than Airtel.

Jitter:

Jio has fantastic international jitter. Airtel is crap to US servers. 50-250 ms jitter.

Speed:

Now both provide full speed to international servers.

In my limited understanding, Routing = Speed + Jitter + Ping

So how and where exactly is Airtel better?

Airtel has better upload speeds, on speed tests yes. But Jio doesn’t promise that anyway.

Neither of them has any down time at all.

I am using Airtel 300 Mbps. I’m very curious in what way is Jio bad when it beats the crap out of Airtel in intl ping and jitter?
 
I agree with the ping fact. I have been with two isps one uses airtel for transit and the other uses Tata. The ping with airtel to US is 300ms+ whereas with TATA is was around 250ms

CGNat is also there in jio which is a deal breaker for some

Edit: Jios ping from Delhi to Delhi is messed up. Try doing a speedtest with airtel server the ping within Delhi is close to 80-100ms
 
I have used jio fiber earlier for 2 years and now using airtel fiber.

1. airtel is not capping upload speed.
2. Airtel is not having cg-nat.
3. Airtel is having approximately 5-10ms lower ping than jio on international servers that i tested.
4. Loading of websites is faster than jio (this is my personal opinion as i used jio a lot and most of the sites were marginally slow on jio)
6. Google dns and cloudflare dns is working way better in airtel.
7. Cloudflare dns is having low ping in airtel.
8. For most of the US servers i tested, jitter was like 0.5 ms to 40ms. Please tell me which servers are having 250ms jitter ?
 
jio is having bad ping to even local servers. Singapore servers was having like 80-100ms ping and same servers on airtel is like 75-85ms

Only common thing between jio and airtel is that both are having zero downtime and that is good thing.
 
jio is providing 1gbps in my area whereas airtel is capping at 300mbps but still i prefer airtel because of the one and only reason:

1. good technical support.

trust me airtel support is way better than jio. I personally experienced the Bad support from jio. Their engineers was having little to zero knowledge. They don’t even know what routing is. :D

at the end jio engineers themselves told me to disconnect the connection and go for airtel because airtel has good technical support. These are genuinely their words

For US servers my jitter is 50-250 ms. For EU etc it’s 0.5-5 ms. Mostly under 3 ms. Is that normal with Airtel? Within Delhi it is usually from 0.1 to2 ms.
 
@Nitin that is correct.

one more thing my office VPN gets disconnected after every 5-10 mins on jio fiber
But with airtel i am not having any disconnection issue with same vpn.

What is CG NAT? What difference does it make?
