I am looking to buy a android smartphone under 30k.

Requirements:

1. Decent camera which can capture good pictures in day light.
2. Powerful enough processor so that the phone doesn't lag.
3. Should support fast charging even it is not included in the box.
4. Phone should not be very bulky.
5. I would prefer a clean OS with not a lot of bloatware and bugs.
6. 90/120Hz display is a must.
7. After sales support should be good.

Something to note before suggesting: I am not interested in buying realme, xiaomi, OnePlus and Oppo/Vivo smartphones for obvious reasons. My experience with Motorola has been very poor in the past at their service center so not interested in that too.

Few options shortlisted:

1. Nothing Phone 1: This phone has some promising specs and is fairly new in the market. Only thing i am skeptical about is the after sales service.
2. Samsung Galaxy S20FE 5G : This is a old sort of flagship phone(atleast with a SD 865 processor) which fits all of my requirements. Available at an effective price of 24k after all discounts on Amazon. The only thing which bugs me is the build quality and the fact that phone is pretty old now(launched in 2021 ig).
3. Pixel 6a: This is the best camera phone in this price segment but comes with a lot of compromises like 60Hz display and buggy Pixel stock ROM. Yes you read it right. My friend using the pixel 4a strongly told me not to buy google phones. Unusually high battery drain, poor network reception and poor battery life. I only shortlisted it because of the camera and clean OS.
4.Sasmung Galaxy S21 FE 5G: This is a newer gen model to the s20 FE 5G with an Exynos processor and better optics. Only thing which is stopping me from getting this phone is the exynos chipset.

Please help me pick a decent one. If you guys have some better suggestions, please let me know. Any kind of help would be appreciated.

So based on the feedback by you guys, i have decided to go with Nothing Phone 1. After sales is a risky bet if i run into issues, but it is a decent device overall.
Thankyou everyone.
@SVK Xiaomi provides very good after sales support in my experience. I remember the good old days of my Redmi note 5 pro and it had some issue with the front camera. Got the whole motherboard replaced for free under warranty.
Unfortunately i can't buy Mi phones anymore because of their crappy UI.

I have heard good reviews about samsung service center as well from my colleagues and friends.

Post 2020, almost all brands, notably Xiaomi and their Redmi lineups have taken a huge hit especially the quality control. Most of the pre-2020 devices were very good value for money. After COVID, with margins thinning, they compromised heavily on the build quality and hence those frequent motherboard issues rampant among Xiaomi and her siblings.

Not to mention their MemeUI...😤

In my case, I am still torn between Samsung A34, Motorola edge 40 and Nothing phone 1.

  • S21 FE, in my case, was getting too hot, especially outdoors and the lack of variable refresh rate meant screen time was around 3.30h.
  • I have used the A54 for a few hours, and it was a decent phone, judging by specification it does not seem like it is much different to an A34, plus it's an A series Samsung, so it should be backed by decent timely Android updates.
  • I don't have any cons with my current phone, except the Wi-Fi power savings is too aggressive, hence it hampers when I want to use it for work (not something a normal person would observe as an issue with his day-to-day use), USB-C to Ethernet is good plus though.

Just a heads up. If you are updating phone1, don't jump to Nos 1.5.6. The battery seems to be draining so you might experience poorer battery life. Nos2.0 is round the corner so keeping my fingers crossed this will be sorted out.
