Google TV is renamed version of Google Play Movies & TV app. While Android TV is OS for TV/STB I guess.

Yeah confusing... My 2 TVs bought in the last year or so both have "Google TV" as the OS (boot animation at least) lol

Google TV app and Google TV OS are two different things.

Google TV OS (based on Android TV) debuted with CCwGTV and Google is now licensing it to many TV / STB brands.

Why did they even rename Google Play Movies & TV to Google TV is best known to them. It's a mess indeed.

Current hardwares support 64 bit but the OS itself is 32 bit on all except the Shield. Everyone should have moved to 64 bit OS long ago.
