In case of TS+, Rs. 10000 was for the DVR STB, installation and one year mega pack with price protection. For SD, it is Rs. 10000 for the STB, 1200 installation and Rs 100 per channel per month(?). What kind of comparison?
ROFL will only cut a groove with no other tangible benefit.
An angaprakshina in a local temple with annadhanam will earn merit and feed the visitors.

TS+ = ordinary video recorder
SD HD = HD receiver

TS+ and SD costs nearly same. SD Rs.100 only for the channels which are in HD.

TS+ Rs.50 monthly rent!
SD HD No rent!

TS+ Annual super saver pack complusory Rs.5000!
SD HD nothing of that sort.

Watching HD on a Full HD monitor gives great picture but watching TS+ recorded programmes is nothing great as it is still highly compressed with just 2mpbs video!

It is well known TS+ is a failure. But SD HD is just launched so we need to wait for some time before we know whether it is a failure or success.

Yes you are correct. See many jumped up and down when TS+ was launched and paid more than Rs.10,000 for it. It does nothing extra other than a good old VCR can do. Now Sun Direct has launched HD for the same amount. If I think of TS+ users I cannot stop :rofl: That too if I think people who bought it around Januray in EMI and they will be still paying :rofl:

Standrad Installation* : Rs.1000 (If cable needed is more that 15mtrs it will cost you lot more)

TS+ Usage fees : Rs.50 per month (I wonder why we need to pay for the hardware which we bought on our own!)

Monthly subscribition fees: starts from Rs.125 and goes over Rs.400! Annual super saver pack if taken will cost Rs.5,000.

So, for me, the total cost was 10000 (including taxes) for TS+ and 1 year mega pack.For new customers, it is 9000+1000 + 5000 (for mega) inclusive of all taxes = 15000.For sun, it is 10000 (plus tax @12%?) + 1250 (plus tax) + 2400 (for 2 HD channels) + 1000 (Basic package) = 16000 (with 12% tax). Of course, those who want to watch non basic package channels, will subscribe for them at additional cost. Usage fee is a sort of licence fee for recording function.Thanks for the clarification.

Not 15,000 it is 15600. Who will pay Rs.600? If you add Rs.50 usage fees then you will end up adding Rs.600! So total will be 8999+5000+1000+600(50*12) for a stb which is no more than a VCR :rofl: Ok leave it you were misguiding the forum this long!
