There are definitely some features missing in TS/TS+. 1) Multi-fav list (available in Airtel, Dish, BIG etc). 2) Universal Remote (available in Airtel). 3) Widgets (Airtel). 4) Quick View - Viewing what is there in multiple channels (again Airtel). 5) Good interactive services like Stock Updates, Shopping etc (again Airtel). 6) HD channels (now in SD). 7) Preview Screen - Viewing the TV while browsing menu etc. (Airtel). 8) 7 Day EPG (Airtel). 9) Better EPG (airtel).TS and Airtel uses NDS software. But to implement the above features whether TS STB is capable? ( SVK may know it).But DTH DVR/PVR cannot be compared with VCR/DVD-R because of its features. It is for time-shift/quality viewing.I am really enjoying TS+ and I donot have any problem in admitting that Airtel is superior to TS in features some already mentioned above.

TS and Airtel uses NDS software. But to implement the above features whether TS STB is capable? ( SVK may know it).

You are right NDS does provide STB solution to Tata Sky & AIRTEL. But the software which runs STB is made of various parts (as any other software).
STB software consists of Hardware interface, Middleware and Application interface. Also it includes Encryption. NDS does provide solution, but I guess Application interface to AIRTEL is done by some other provider. Hence AIRTEL has different 'Applications' compare to TATASKY.
Now why AIRTEL is having different provider, I have no idea. May be they have aggrement with some other provider or may be TATASKY's contract with NDS doesn't allow NDS to provide 'Application' to AIRTEL as it could be related to copyright type issues.

hey thts some interestin comparison.. me too have been using TS+.. i wld like to have the multi fav list option.. rest all doesnt really matter to me.. i really like the TS interface though..
