Any way to get 5.1 output from STB?

Dear Jesse..

There is one solution for this... I have also done this at home... But this is a costly solution... Actually now a days the 2.1 that is transmitted through sat has high Data of sound signals....
So to convert 2.1 to 5.1 you need a AV RECEIVER...
that i have used it...
In that you need to go for Dolby Pro Logic II version whose algorithem is superior compared to I version...
But u wont get real 5.1 but u can get a vertual 5.1...

But that is also good... now days algorithms have improved so much that you can here only voice from
cenral speaker with dolby prologic II on 2.1 signals.. DENON and YAMAHA are good at these.. Denon AVR 1908 is an excellent model for this solutions.. but yamaha is bit costly when compared to denon

There is no real solution to get pure 5.1 output from the DTH box......as many people have posted, only way forward would be 'virtual'. Using the DTH sound output through a AV receiver is a good idea, though i doubt any drastic improvement. You can try connecting a HTheater and see how the whole thing sounds. Advantage with the AV receiver is that you can tweak to a certain extent the sound anomalies you will encounter with a HTheater connection.

but this much of hardware set-up for gettting 5.1 o/p is really a shit as on today all channels telecast serials which plays a major role so do u guys think of watching a serial in 5.1o/p:hysterical:
