No idea of what that is. Afaik, there's no monitor/interface settings on this one. Could be that I'm wrong though. Guide me on what it is? May be able to find it if it's available.

In a dos window try the following command
telnet 192.168.1.1
It should return a login/password interface.

i came to know from airtel customer care that for upto 8mbps the snr should be above 10 and for 16mbps the snr should be above 6. as u saw it was 12 when i was on 8mbps..yesterday i upgraded to 16mbps same plan and snr dropped to 6 which should be slightly more around 8-9..let c how it works for few days or i will downgrade to 8mbps again.

Are you getting any HEC/CRC errors in Line stats?

yes a lot today morning. somehow it reduced now but snr is still around 6..16mbps is not feasable in my areaa. airtel technician visited twice today and told me that 16mbps will cause line drops here, use 8mbps for stable connectivity. i am going back to 8mbps..i can change my plan after 24hours so i will give the request on monday.

A lot meaning hundreds/thousands? I have been running with 6-10 SNR for the past few days and connection has been stable. My suggestion will be to keep your 16mbps line for a few days before you downgrade.

it was thousands in the morning but now its hundreds. mine doesnt go above 6.3. r u getting 16mbps? i am not even getting that. mximum speed is around 10-11mbps. could you post a screenshot of the statistics?

Your snr is good. My snr was fluctuating between 4.4-6.3 during the day. When i registered a complaint the engg came and changed the port from the dp. The snr improved after that but did not exceed 6.5. And now again its 6. Speed is between 11-12 mbps. He told me that this will worsen in couple of days as the copper doesnt have this much capacity to support 16mbps in my area. Are u getting full 16mbps? Is your Download speed 1.9-2MB/SEC? i am facing too much fluctuation. Download speed is 1-1.3MB/sec. Its kind of unstable. Your downstream is also good 19000+. U must be getting 16mbps. Mine is 17500-18300. Engg said this should be 19000+.

I posted my speed tests in this thread. The most i am getting is 14mbps. I am still having my cable tested though as i don't like those HEC errors.

When i type that in cmd it returns telnet isnt a recognised command....so guess i dont have it. BTW 0 hec errors here :p you guys need to put in a line complaint and tell them to recheck your line. They'll come and resolve this issue, or tell you to go back down to 8mbps I guess if 16mbps is the root cause of this issue.Could be why i'm being denied 16mbps as well, but i'll still try nevertheless and if it doesn't work out come back to 8mbps.

You can download putty for telnet if you want to give a try.
I think it is better to stick with 16mbps even with those HEC errors.
