Does anyone use BSNL fibre optic?
How to apply for it ?

I've seen it briefly in Jaipur. Its... yeah.

If it's available in your city, you can apply for it the same way you apply for any other BSNL service - by calling them up or visiting their local service centre.

I've heard its symmetric, if they come out with 4mbps plan with reasonable offering, i'll go for it. It will be worth for games.

Are you sure? Based on the 2 and 8 mbit/s pricing that'd be about 7k a month.

It will get cheaper eventually,it is only a matter of time. They are most probably waiting for a pan-India roll out then they will reduce it.
And if i am not wrong they are allowing present BB customers to shift to fiber at no extra cost, that will solve the copper-long distance speed loses completely.

At last they also know that there would be no customers with this type of pricing.

I'm already paying 3800 Rs/- a month for Tata Infinity 2mbps plus which has a cap of 150GB and upload restriction to 512kbps....

If its symmetric and below 5k or equal, i'll definitely go for it.

I am using for a few months now. It is no better than normal broadband - definitely more costly. Installation process was a nightmare. Customer support is non existent and misleading most of the time.I would strongly recommend you stay away from FTTH for now. I use Airtel bb at my office - pay a lot less, and get great speed (2mbps) with excellent customer service. Stick to any alternative provider till the kinks in their process are worked out.

Yup.. shutting down new connection installations, for a 15 day period, while the sales department is still collecting money+forms and promising installation in 2-5days is excellent customer service :)
