Well I'll be glad to pay, I don't like paying much, so If anyone knows the VCC method they can get it for $1.

Err I don't think that will work... It will ask u to add another funding source before it let's u download the OS... Anyway if u want a way to make vcc just get a HDFC acct... They have an option called netsafe or something ... It's basically for making a VCC...

this is so wrong. it is only available on the mac app store. 3.49GB file.. and before that you need to update the mac to latest version of snow leopard which also is amounts to GBs of data. so on my 1 mbps mtnl line it will take days. and as far as i think if the net disconnects in between the download starts from 0%. and the pendrive is twice the price of the appstore download and there is no info when it will be available in india.so i have to stick to snow leapord for the some time.

ok i do not have access to a macbook any longer. and i have not used the mac app store much. so i am not sure about whether it can resume large downloads.

Apple itunes sucked at resuming downloads. so maybe mac app store has a similar issue. though i would assume that apple did take care of making resumes work.

as for downloading it... i think you would be able to get the restore file online. so you can pay for it and probably download the compressed data using torrents and then installing it?

there is a support document on the apple website detailing the process i think.

here is the doc. this might not be relevant for fresh installations. OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery

but i do believe that you should be able to download the dump from the internets and install it manually through the mac app store. something that is officially supported on itunes for iOS updates.

----------

How to transfer the Lion file to another machine to install - gdgt

here is a way to get the image file of the installer. the possible problem is that the image might be restricted to a specific apple account.

Yea, Mac store is resume supported. :D

You can pause and then resume. But while downloading if net disconnects then the download starts from 0%
