i might switch to a laptop too in future if i can find a good way to broadcast shows from storage to a tv. i mean sure it's simple with apps like kodi but syncing subtitles, finding subtitles on obscrure websites is just easier to do right on the pc. so it works out well if you have a decent sized monitor. finding a decent monitor with good warranty is current annoyance.

honestly if my work was focused on media editing, i would dump everything and just get a m1 mac.

Yeah laptops now are powerful enough for most tasks you want to throw at them.

Desktops are less useful except for some usage like heavy gaming or development work.

would the m1 8gb macbook be good enough for raw file editing? 16GB is not easily available. other option is intel 16GB. i am guessing ram is not upgradeable on the macbooks so kind of a messy situation to be in.

Are they happy with the M1 MacBook?
