Apple: US Government is asking us to build a backdoor on our software

Wow. Of course. This can even happen to the the world's richest person who probably has thousands of experts watching and taking care of each alphabet that comes out of his mouth.

he now says that he wants debate on the topic. everyone else seems to be taking one side or the other.

here is a viral medium post which kind of explains the absurdity of the situation.

Apple is going to lose if they don't help FBI. Americans would take them as a company that sympathizes with terrorists.

But if they help FBI, people will find other ways to secure their data. There are hundreds of apps and cloud storage options with heavy encryption.

Americans are generally pretty stupid people. Just look at the lead Trump has right now over his rivals. But on this topic... Americans are being smarter than Indians. I have seen only Trump coming out against Apple's stand. Every tech company out there is affected by the outcome so there is plenty of support with Apple. Google and Microsoft included. Everyone loses if Apple is forced to weaken the security of their phones. Because the ruling would apply to all tech companies in the USA which kind of affects everyone on this planet. Including Americans living outside USA in oppressive regimes like China and Russia.

Point is... No business would trust Apple if they help out FBI. Apple knows this and they are taking the smarter route out. A small segment of the market might get offended (Trump supporters included I guess) but they win respect of everyone else globally.

Government might can not be underestimated. Apple will have to bow down. It's just a matter of time.
