If nothing works out. You could always use the TP-Link router as just a dumb wireless AP, DHCP will be handled by the Airtel router, so no double NAT.
I wanted to use my own DHCP as well as network control, and I don't want to depend on the service provider's network equipment, so that any time I can put another internet connection anytime and all my devices ( some 30 unique clients including IoT devices) would not require re-config and everything would be seamless.

Plus I was getting very high latency with Xbox live and could not play certain games properly. Someone suggested using minimum network cascading and reduce multiple routers, also Airtel routers are not great for WiFi bandwidth, and no option for mesh WiFi.

I have the Nokia G2425 on bridge mode. The landline doesn't work for me either, but that's some config issue. I haven't bothered with it as my internet is working absolutely fine.

BTW, how much did you get the ring for?
But my landline is working absolutely fine in both the scenarios with Airtel router PPPoE IP or my TP-Link's PPPoE connection IP.

My issue is with mobile calling via Wifi (VoWiFi). I live in extreme end of Gurgaon and there is very poor mobile service here. I was mainly relying on WiFi calling for mobile calls.

I am one of the first customers of Ring and bought it in 2014 when it was not Amazon-owned brand :). I even paid customs duty of 5k at that time to import it here. It costed me some 17k that time. I even got a replacement ring free of cost recently because of a malfunction in old device. Two years back Ring replaced my chime as well. A great customer support service. Only -ve is, it is not available with Alexa skills with India account, so you cannot ask Alexa to show main door on TV or Echo.

I am now using PPPoE at Airtel's router, and at TP-Link using the internet connection as dynamic. I know this will give me double nat but at least I can config, assign IPs and make bandwidth control within the home network easily.
Whenever (mostly during Xbox online games session) I would need to skip the double NAT issue, I would simply have to change the internet option at TP-Link by selecting PPPoE (It save the settings no matter how many times you toggle). This would again block my mobile VoWiFi and Ring doorbell audio.

I am still not able to understand why those services stopped working. It must be from Airtel's side, which is blocking ports if it senses that PPPoE connection is made by non-Airtel provided router by looking at MAC address.

Yes I get all the advantages, just meant that as a last ditch option, that still exists.

Dont think so. The devices initiate the connection from within your network and reach out to the cloud end. All they need is a internet and working dns and sometime NTP too. First think i would check if NTP and DNS are working fine. If that is ok, you can sniff the traffic between your IOT device and the router, and see whether it is showing any failure on the route. I dont your network, but maybe your own firewall is coming in the way.

@kultz I have the same problem Hard to setup bridge mode and the option also disable for me,as u mention no Nokia ont is aviable when it install for me too. Tell me if u found a solution.

I am using ZTE F670LV9.0 ONT. This is a combo device, fiber termination as well as router and wifi. This is a new device that Airtel started providing recently because of the shortage of Nokia routers and the discontinuation of Huawei.
What is the range of this ZTE router? is it worth asking for the same? and any other issue with this?

@kultz I had the same issue with the zte modem on bridge mode. I thought airtel was blocking the ports and escalted it to nodal and they later raised it to level 3. When no one was able to fix I then asked them to change the modem to either Huawei or Nokia. They changed it to Nokia and activated the bridge connection. And guess what the issue was resolved. Try asking for a modem change and see if it resolves the issue.
