Are you people really getting 176 Kilobytes/sec download speed from Torrents?OS=ubunt

Hello, I am using Bsnl Broadband connection and my tarrif is Combo plan (2 MBPS),I saw some posts in this Forum saying they are getting an speed of 176 Kilobytes/second or more while downloading files from torrents.I am using Ubuntu 7.10 and these are the steps that I have taken to improve my torrent speed1) Port forwarding, I have even checked my availability of Ports through this Website "http://www.canyouseeme.org/" and even through "nmapfe 4.20" and I have even checked the availabilty of port before alloting them to my Torrent client "Azureus". ( No NAT error)2) Believe me I have choosen the Torrents that has the best "Seed v/s Leeches" Ratio and I have never got this speed.3) I have even enabled encryption in "Azureus" and I have set RC4 as the ‘minimum encryption’, ‘Allow non-encrypted outgoing connections if encrypted connection attempt fails’ check box and ‘Allow non-encrypted incoming connections’ check box is checked.4) I have gained speed of over 180 or 200 Kilobytes/second download only from direct Website downloads and sometimes from link-removed but never from Torrents.Am I missing any tweak or important setting in here. If yes, please do specify

try downloading multiple torrents at the same time, say more than 3 - 5 torrents, then check your total bandwidth being utilised - i am sure you will get better speeds then... even with my measly 256kbps UL connection, i sometimes need many torrents to fully use/get the 256 kilo bits per second

Thanks for quick reply, yes I am gaining the speed of over 180 Kilobytes/sec if I sum up the download speed of multiple torrents that are running simultaneously, I thought BSNL users are getting these speeds for single Torrent.

for few torrents with more no of seeders and with good upload seeds u will get almost 230-240 or 200 KBps speeds i used to get for few torrents private trackers

yep.. i am on 500 c + plan and i get avg dwnld speed of 270kBps(private tracker ofcourse) while dwnlding and about 40kBps while uploading

for me,max speed of torrents these days are around 207KB/Sec.

around 220KB/s max,but in azureus vuze speed is awesome 230KB/s to 240KB/s
