India is set to block Chinese CCTV giants like Hikvision, Dahua and TP-Link from selling internet-connected cameras from April 1, as new STQC certification rules make approval mandatory.

Tbh CP PLUS isn't owned by these giants, but this govt move was already in the books and is a very welcome step. Also know that no electronic hardware is safe its its connected to the network , until properly air gapped but well that too can be forced open

How is this a welcome step?

My cp plus cctv hangs a lot and its app is crap as well.

On otherhand hikvision cctvs work flawlessly and their app is super smooth.

Hikvision is surely an amazing product but its servers are in china, they are monitoring every data and pose security risks or so reported by our govt. And we all know how much say we got as consumers living in india.
