Proton Mail Not Blocked in India, Union Govt Informs Karnataka HC

M Moser Design, in its plea, claimed that unidentified individuals used Proton Mail to send abusive emails targeting female employees. These emails contained:
Obscene and derogatory remarks.
Sexually colored messages.
Deep Fake images.
Explicit content circulated among staff, associates, vendors, and competitors.
The company asserted that such actions caused severe reputational and psychological harm to the victims.

So why should Proton Mail be banned for this? Just ban the domain across your systems and workplace.

Encrypted mails can be sent through any email service from what I understand. If it was encrypted, it won't open unless you use public key or something to decrypt it.

Proton to proton would be automatically handled. If it was sent to their company accounts, and content was visible, how was it encrypted in the first place 🤷🏼

Encryption happens for content. Not source. If Proton doesn't have official presence in india, it's a jurisdiction issue not encryption issue.

Anyone can create an anonymous account on any service and send lewd emails.
