If you think things are bad now, just wait and see. There was some plan a few months back about a media centre where all channels broadcast in India would be monitored 24x7. After all it is essential to protect the stupid Indian from watching something he might not understand.

Unfortunately, even the US, the last bastion of free speech on this planet, is going to the dogs in relation to television censorship.

The internet is our only hope of getting content that we want when we want it. It is indecipherable to the technologically illiterate - like the people from the IMG and our Mi&B. Therefore it is un-censor-able.

this is the main reason that the dth we r having has less channels,

THe way it works in western countries is as follows...

THINK about the children

..now once thats out of the way. If you want to continue watching, pls subscribe to so & so channel and you can watch whatever you want.

THat way the innocent children can't watch something they might not understand, the govt. gets a service tax (a generous 12%) and employment is created via new paid tv companies..cept umm..those companies will defnitely be foreign..so umm..hmm..

DBL service tax on foreign tv companies.

:)

Happened to visit the IOL Office at Bangalore. They now have a demo setup running. They are initially making available on 60+ channels and say that it's going to reach 150 channels in a couple of months. The quality was quite good.
