I have observed restarting once a day keeps battery level normal without unnecessary wake locks.

wakelock detector , spu spy are your two options. I have N4. Had this issue. "Keep awake" is your issue with the tablet and it's quite famous , as well as annoying issue.
What I understand is , you did the reset, and then updated.... I say, do a factory reset again after the update ( the update won't be gone after then reset ).
and Do check your phone apps settings.
Also, real racing 3 is one of the game which also causes the issue as I doesn't exit properly. Force stop it if you have the game.

I already did factory reset ..then got OTA update of 4.3 ..installed it and then this battery problem started.
Tablet runs buttery smooth ..all the apps work without even a slightest hint of lag ..Its just this battery drain which is troubling me past 2 days
There was another update of about 1.7MB (build nmber JWR66Y)
OR, Try a custom Kernel. I use Franco kernel left it untouched at 100% for 26 hours and the battery decreased to just 99%

u dont need any special kernel for that. i do it on stock. use set cpu to set cpu profiles(speeds) for diff tasks. greenify all apps xcept the chat ones or the ones u need notifications for. underclock the proc by 20-30% u don't need it running at full speed just to browse or chat. u can set tht via set cpu. use lux to dynamically adjust screen brightness even belwo stock. tht shdu save a ton of battery.
the combined effect of all this is a battery life of 2 days+ easily with some music playing, coupla calls, chatting on n off and wifi on all the time.

I've just got this update after manually searching for it in settings. Installed it ..would know tomorrow whether the battery drain is fixed or not

Did you check your processor speed with cpu spy?

Not sure what the above screenshot means.

Don't have real racing :)
I've again uploaded all my data in the tab. Would be too much work to again reset the tab. I've got an update ..If this doesn't fix ..I'll do the reset this weekend.
Would also try the wakelock detector you've suggested

It shows for what period was your CPU on different frequencies. You took the screenshot too soon, didn't allow the tablet to idle. Let the tablet idle for 1 - 2 hours and post the screenshot again. You should be able to see one more section called 'Deep Sleep', something like this.

If your tablet is not going to Deep Sleep while idling, you need to install Wakelock Detector to detect the app/process keeping the CPU awake.

Being lazy won't solve your problem. Update to the latest update and then reset the device. I had the exact same problem 2 days back. Reset worked and now I'm having 5hrs and 20 mins SoT on my N4. ( With 1Day and about 18hrs of phone usage - not much games, may be for 20 mins max, 3g usage for a hour and then normal calling. ) 4.3 update sure has done great.

Not being lazy but I've just transferred files around 8GB to the tab after getting 4.3 update and resetting the tab.
Got the 1.7mb update yesterday .would see how the battery holds up after this 1.7mb update. If it doesn't do any good ..i'll prolly just reset and try franco kernal.
