Would just updating the software do the trick? And would it break anything?

I went to the openwrt wiki, and found other boxes using the same chipset, including this Netgear one.

DM111P Support Page

Netgear features the following software downloads, all of which are newer than the 3.06L.05.A2pB021g.d19d on my router.

• Version 3.63y7 [for North America users only]
• Version 3.30J
• Version 3.29U
• Version 3.28R

I'm not sure on what basis to select one (or none) of these. Any insights here?

Thanks for your time and effort.

Problem :SNMP agent : not available.
1.Try again 192.168.1.1/main.html
type 192.168.1.1/snmpconfig.html
if still page not available FW required.

2.The firmware given in IBFWIKI is the one you can use.
Extracted from a working model.

Do it at your own risk. ! I never tried it !
Must have UPS. Power failure during
FW UPG will result in a "DUD" modem.

3. I just got the modem replaced By Airtel !

Thank you so much for holding my hand through this, essbebe.I followed your tip and tried ipconfig.html, and a configuration page did load! However, setting the options, saving and rebooting does not do the trick. Still no SNMP in the services list, and an SNMP query from my client machine produces no result.Should I persevere, or throw in the towel and call Airtel? :-)

@walchan99

tried ipconfig.html[/unquote] presume typing error.
I think you tried this 192.168.1.1/snmpconfig.html .
Since the menu has opened, no point in FW upgrade.
Same way in access control page ( *** WAIT)
192.168.1.1/scsrvcntr.cmd?action=view

SNMP has to be enabled in LAN or WAN or in both.
If ......./trcfg.html also available DISABLE it.
( client tr_069)

Please recheck.\Since this is a new topic for me , and not often
discussed here, please wait for further responses.
I will also try to find a possible solution.

Airtel tech staff, to avoid freq calls will simply give you the new modem
show SNMP available , and rush to the next breakdown call! !
It appears, if there are freq calls from a particular area,
that particular engineer or technician gets a "run down "!.
They always give me their cell number , and ask
me to contact them Direct !
I also try to impress them with my "Gyan!!!!" picked up here.

Thanks, essbebe. You were right about the typo. It was snmpconfig.html.

Also right about the airtel staff, who are always rushing to meet their SLA (Service Level Agreement) target of 4 hours!

I'm going to check my LAN settings. However, since nothing has changed but the modem/router, my guess is that the problem & configuration issues will lie there. As of now, still no SNMP service evident. http://imageshack.us

For my education, why disable tr_069? What does it do or not do?

Will wait appreciatively, since I find that solving the problem is so much more satisfying than letting Airtel use the shotgun.

Stlll getting nowhere with SNMP on my Beetel 220 BX1.
To summarise, logged onto main.html.
Opened snmpconfig.html successfully, which seems to bear out that the firmware supports SNMP.

On flling form and clicking Save/Apply, no feedback apart from the button changing colour on click. On going back to main.html: Management: Access Control, no sign of SNMP service. Tried rebooting router after this sequence, but didn't make any difference.

Any help out there?

Board ID: 96338L-2M-8M
Software Version: 3.12L.01.A2pB023k.d20k_rc2
Bootloader (CFE) Version: 1.0.37-12.1
( USB PORT Not available )
Para two:1 Make a call to Airtel cc or email [email protected]
explain your problem.
2. They may replace 220BX1 with 110BX1 having SNMP in access control page.
3. Contact 42111213 ( BB tech CC ) if same in Delhi about SNMP availability/usage..
Para two:
I am not sure Who is the "TRAP manager" where alarm etc is generated and reported.
I think ONLY the ISP can do it for a LAN set up.May be I am wrong.
More "gyan" here. ( will read leisurely , as I have only one laptop in use!!! another laptop standby )
and Client TR_069, if enabled , Airtel checks the BB connection and restores it!

@mac SNMP:Thanks.Another application required Locally or in Remote location.Because the log entries are also all "greek' to me !Beyond the scope of this forum I think. Most of us, are struggling to keep one computer going properly for Internet !Basic Task was to get SNMP enabled in his modem and Beetel 110BX1 has the option under DSL. for LAN as well as WAN.Thanks for the response.

essbebe, macI'm very grateful for your efforts and guidance. mac, I followed your research in modifying my SNMP prefs. However, the basic problem seems to be that when I click on the Save/Apply button, nothing happens. There is no latency, no response, no progress animation. In short, nothing seems to be getting written to the modem. mac, the one difference between your screen and mine is that under Management, my modem shows TR-069 client while yours shows SNMP agent. I don't know a lot about SNMP, but I use a network monitoring software which queries the modem/router using SNMP, giving me fairly comprehensive data on quality of service, bandwidth, etc. My earlier router, a ZyXEL Prestige P45R, worked just dandy. However, when its power supply burned out, Airtel swapped the entire caboodle, and my travails began.(essbebe, thanks for the tutorial link, but it's a bit too technical for me)If I ask Airtel to replace my 220BX1 with a 110BX1, would that result in any loss of speed?
