Beetle 220BX and DLink wirless router DIR 300 issue on Airtel Broadband

Hello, i bought D-Link wireless router DIR 300 but after trying a lot i am unable to get it to work. I read other threads also but unable to get it to work. So please help. I am a bit of noob in such things, so tell me what is wrong or what I am missing :

1. I installed the drivers through cd for dlink and followed the procedure.
2. I changed my airtel modem setting to bridge mode (no other setting changed, I am running internet on LAN)
3. Thn through dlink setup page, i did Internet setup as shown

Internet runs fine when the LAN wire is plugged between laptop and dlink router but when i remove the wire to make it wireless, internet stops. I am running vista. Please see if anyone of you can help.

PM replied. Did you create a wireless network ? in your laptop.Do you get a page showing secured /unsecured wireless Network in range ?In modem/router check wireless setttings , or post screen shot.Try without any security key. them enter security key.1.Beetel 220BX ===>Rj45 ===to Dir300 WAn/internet port.2.Dir300 Lan1 rj45 ====to desktop. OK ?3.Dir300 lan 2= rj45 ===to laptop OK ?4.remove rj45 from laptop5. Laptop wireless adapter ? power on led : : Data led : blinking ?6. Dir300 ~~~~~~~~~ ( wireless waves ) to Laptop ..

I am facing a bit of problem on using torrent on wireless router. I tried downloading torrents but the issue is that the speed is not constant. 10 secs it goes to full level thn it fall down to almost zero for few secs thn again it rises and this cycle goes on which is affecting the overall download amount. I have tried torrents from difft trackers which are well seeded. Even when the upload speed is almost zero on a very well seeded torrents this issue remains. Any idea of how to remove this issue or this always happensRegards

do you see a green tick mark in utorrent which confirms that your ports are open?

yes everything is fine, the port is forwarded properly
