I recently purchased a Belkin N300 Wireless Modem + Router. I was able to configure it with MTNL Mumbai by asking for instructions on this thread.
The Wireless mode was by default set to 802.11 B + G. I changed it to work solely in N mode.

However, it continues to run in G mode, whatever I do.

I tried changing the channel from 6 to 13. This has no effect. I have left it on 13 as the 6 and 11 channels in my area are crowded.

I have 3 laptops, with different wireless cards from Intel and Atheros. I have enabled Wireless N mode on all of them, but they all connect on 802.11g at 54 Mbps.

I have read some vague stuff on various forums about the channel width determining which band can be used. I am not able to make out what the problem is in my case.
