BTW since the phone is 4S, it will use lot more data. Almost double of iPhone 4 due to faster processor and Siri and new location based services in iOS 5. From personal experience, 500 MB per month is needed.

For the last 3 days, I was getting text messages every evening telling me my data usage thus far for this month. Today, none. Maybe airtel people were on holiday.
