As per rumours we are about to see another tariff hike in the telecom industry, and I've been thinking what would be the best to safeguard ourselves from it (atleast for 1 extra year)
The following are probably the most popular recharge plans imo since i couldn't get actual data on which plans are the most popular so I'm assuming the following.
So now, let's calculate how much does the most popular plan costs you over a year.
Also, i would calculating them for 13 months instead of 12 months because recharge plans with 28 days are designed to make you pay for 13 months instead of 12 in a year ,and we need to know the monthly cost of this.
1. Rs 299 1.5GB/day 28 day plan 4G only
would actually cost you as 299x13=3,887
3,887 which means you are paying more than the actual yearly plan, while not getting the benefits of Unlimited 5G and 2.5Gb per day data
2. Rs 629 2GB/day 56 days unlimited 5G plan
you would need to recharge 7 times in a year, meaning you're paying
629X7=4,403 a year and if you divide 4403/13 then its 338rs a month is spent on it
3. Rs 349 2GB/day 28 days Unlimited 5G plan
This is probably the most popular 28 days 5G plan and if you do the same maths here
349x13=4,537 a year
4. Rs 859 2GB/day 84 days unlimited 5G plan
For Jio's ₹859 84-day 5G prepaid plan, you'll recharge 5 times annually to cover 365 days seamlessly, as 4 recharges leave a 29-day gap.
859x5=4,295 a year (330rs a month)
5. Rs 189 2GB/Month plan
189x13=2,457 a year
3599/13 = 277rs a month
Now this is done deliberately so RJio ,Airtel and Vi either get a customer locked in for 1 year or get more money out of them if they are buying only the monthly or 84 day plan.
Also, to note that this plan is only good for those who are confident about Jio's experience in their home or office. And they are happy with Jio's network.
Some people do queue recharges in the jio app but im not sure how well it works and i dont want to queue up yearly recharges for like 5 years from now

The following are probably the most popular recharge plans imo since i couldn't get actual data on which plans are the most popular so I'm assuming the following.
| Rank | Price | Data | Validity | Key Benefits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ₹299 | 1.5GB/day | 28 days | Unlimited calls/SMS, 4G Only plan |
| 2 | ₹629 | 2GB/day | 56 days | Unlimited 5G ,Unlimited Calls/ 300 SMS |
| 3 | ₹349 | 2GB/day | 28 days | Unlimited 5G ,Unlimited Calls/ 300 SMS |
| 4 | ₹859 | 2GB/day | 84 days | Unlimited 5G ,Unlimited Calls/ 300 SMS |
| 5 | ₹189 | 2GB/month | 28 days | Unlimited calls/300 SMS, budget monthly option |
So now, let's calculate how much does the most popular plan costs you over a year.
Also, i would calculating them for 13 months instead of 12 months because recharge plans with 28 days are designed to make you pay for 13 months instead of 12 in a year ,and we need to know the monthly cost of this.

5. Rs 189 2GB/Month plan
189x13=2,457 a year
Now The Only plan which makes sense is actually the yearly plan of 3599Rs as you get 365 days 2.5gb per day with unlimited 5G
3599/13 = 277rs a month
