Hello guys!
I'm going/coming to India and would like to fix the internet issues at home.
We have 465b454f-6d90-4d6a-85f8-b855cff1cb82 hosted at ImgBB DBC XPON.
Behind this I connected a Archer C9(with DD-WRT) and it works fine when the connection is fine.
I'm planning to add camera and other things and want to put a small server + other things - for me to remote into from the US.
With that said, I would like to change to a better XPON ONU (without any wifi) with bridging.
So please suggest some good XPON ONU maybe 1Gig? (I'm ok if it has Wifi, but bridge mode and an option to switch off the wifi should be there). Or how is this DBC technologies ONU (pic linked above)? Is it ok to use that and does it support bridging??
We already got Static IP few weeks back - since I read somewhere it might help in proper routing with BSNL. Plus I want to get into my home network from outside and I thought static IP will help for VPN. This is all in Namakkal in Tamil Nadu.
It's BSNL but thru Aarsu cable. I'm couldn't understand the link between them but want to know will the connection be better if it's taken directly from BSNL and not Aarsu?
Six/Seven years back BSNL said they cant service my area with Fibre and after sometime this Aarsu cable came into picture. But my father recently paid for Static IP in BSNL office only.
Also those Aarsu cable agency guys are telling we can take Railnet as a backup - because lot of the time after 9/10pm Internet stops working or some issues. I'm yet to find out after going there.
I already bought a Ubiquiti ER-X as a router to put it in my home once I reach India. Also by default ER-X supports two WAN connection. So I don't mind getting Railnet.
Any one using Railnet? They are saying some INR 2000-3000 per year but the speed will be slow. I'm ok as long as it is a back up. So in that case, one more ONU right?
Any idea and suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
