Yeh.. I could see color richness when i connect my Composite cable in Component Output option in the STB.

Sure having an Genuine component cable will give the good performance. But i am unable to decided how far the Quality will be. But i have one doubt. By using the Genuine component cable, 16:9 will be available ( i do not want to see the stretched imaged on my TV). BIG TV says 16:9 is available if i use component Output.

Anyone can clarify this?

as of today BIG TV does not give 16:9 option even via component.

well guys finally we have some HD channels signals over india,while before there only some few FTA HD channels like VOOM HD and ,now there are some popular channels like National geographic HD and History channel HD(pay channels) which are present in MEASAT 3 the same sattelite the has transponders for BIG TValso in another sattelite there is fashion TV HD,LUXE tv HD all are FTA HD channel,so its a matter of time they start giving HD channels,offcourse have to keep fingers crossed on the pricing.

well u didnt think that u can directly recieve that channels via big tv did u,i just posted the info. any dth provider,cable provider can give once he has the HD stb and licence from government.or if u can get a HD stb can view those free to air HD channels.

It takes lot more than that. Those channels are DVB-S2. You will have to get special 8psk decoders to view those channles

dude nobody told that existing stbs are HD capable or dvb s2 capable.

the airtel STB doesn't have component nor HDMI so NO its not HD ready.

All of these FTA HD channels are not offered by Big tv infact only 1 channel Nat Geo HD is available with the launch of HD they should have atleast provided equal or more channels than Sundirect.
