Unlikely
DVR requires different remote (Fast forward/pause/rewind/list/stop buttons), and a highly complicated software. Additionally, even if the device was to be an add on to this box, the existing STB would still need to have expensive circuits just to make it happen. Unlikely that Reliance will put this in every STB when typically less than 5% of its subscribers will opt for DVR when it comes..(95% of the STb will have a piece of circuit that Reliance paid for that will never be used).Again if they were planing to give a software update for this, the same STB would probably not support two versions of software. Not to say that cheap STB that they have provided being able to run this software (It is barely able to run the existing software)
I believe that the USB is for software updates when it cannot be/is inconvenient to update this via the cable.
DVR will come with a more expensive (I would estimate 8k to 14k) STB.
could be.but dont forget reliance IPTV also uses the same remote, but it has the Fast forward/pause/rewind/list/stop buttons ,reliance could bundle a DVR with a new remote which will work with the stb.
the reliance iptv stb-dvr has a 80gb hdd and is priced at 6000 it also has a HDMI port and is HD ready.
so it very higly unlikely that a dvr equipped stb will cost more then 6k.i beleive the DVR addon will be price at around 3000.
could be because my bsnl iptv's STB manufactured by 'Amino' also has a usb port which is for keyboard+mouse device which the engineer used during installation
yes its clearly mentioned in user manual.
