BlackBerry App World Will Soon be Called ‘BlackBerry World’ - N4BB

During BlackBerry Jam Asia, RIM’s VP of Developer Relations Alec Saunders announced BlackBerry App World’s nomenclature will be changed at BlackBerry 10′s launch.

BlackBerry App World will include much more than apps. You’ll have the purchasing power for movies, music, games, and much more. Thus, RIM has decided to change the name to BlackBerry World.

BlackBerry Brand Hikes in India. Beats Samsung & iPhone in Mobile Space | BBin - India 's Best BlackBerry Community

A little exaggeration perhaps. But really? How many smartphones did you sell compared to others?

In recent hosted brand survey BlackBerry gets ranked 10th overall & seeded 2nd position to Nokia in mobile handset segment. ”We are really excited at having been able to make an impact on a segment that we clearly identified and worked very hard to meet the needs of. If you don’t offer relevant product services, your offering will have no value.“ Says Krishnadeep Baruah, Director Marketing at RIM India.

The dominants of west – Samsung & Apple are washed out in the country. Samsung mobiles once ranked in top 10 moved to 12th & iPhone pacing downhill to a distant 35th position. Clearly the competition is between the 3 mobile giants - RIM, Nokia & Samsung disqualifying iPhone to title as a competitor. The release of BlackBerry 10 later this month could even set BlackBerry to #1 spot in mobile space earlier than expected.

Lol this article is published on a BB forum which is in need of some publicity. Acc to some survey samsung became No.1 in india followed by Nokia. And according to this bullshit it says samsung on 12th. LOL

Hmm... Its more of a brand recognition/value than sales. Also, its the survey position is not restricted to mobile segment. Overall RIM is 10th & Samsung 12th & Apple 35th. In mobiles, Nokia is 1st & RIM is 2nd. They conveniently left out the positions of Samsung & Apple among mobile segment. But yes, my questioning is more on the lines - 2nd in brand value? But, what about actual sales :)

you can spend 100 crores on advertising and marketing. more people would know about you. but would they buy you? you just lose money instead of making any.ranbir kapoor is their new brand ambassador right? i mean people bought fiat cars when sachin was advertising for them. but it does not really change their long term reputation.

And thats what even I am asking, you can claim to be the 2nd most recognised/valued brand. But is anyone actually buying your stuff? And if we see in that sense Apple being at a lower position is kind of confusing, because going by THAT yardstick, they should have been above RIM.

Blackberry could not be No. 2 in brand postion, it could be actually No. 1. As I can see 99% of TV actors are using Blackberry phones (even Regional channels actors carry it) :DBesides Salman had Blackberry in Bodyguard :)
