Bridge mode OR PPPOE mode?? Which is better and why??

Have been using the default PPPOE mode of the router D-Link glb 502 t for quite a long a long time without any problems.
But just tried with the Bridge mode and it worked like a charm for me.

The firewall of the router cannot be enabled in the bridge mode is the only problem as far as know.

but its better if you want to know how much u downloaded(in bytes) in the current session by just pointing your mouse to the connection icon in the taskbar

HOW is PPPOE better than bridge????
ARE there any PROBLEMS or Security Threats with the bridge connection.....

If you need to connect more than one system, PPPoE mode is the only solution. In PPPoE you are behind NAT and is considered a bit secure. In bridge mode, all ports are open. It is better to use a firewall. To check usage, you can use shaplus bandwidth meter.

@aju, Bridged connection is definitely faster than PPoE because it opens up all your ports.

Generally useful if you download from torrents to acheive higher speeds.

Note If you are using bridged mode, then ensure that you secure your system. A proper and an updated antivirus with firewall is a necessity.
