broadband speed

i am using bsnl broadband connection but the speed i am getting is pathetic its so slow. bsnl is saying that it has 2mbps but i never even got 256kbps which is the minimum broadband speed.

Please note

256 Kbps = 256/8 = 32 KBps

or

8 Kbps = 1 KBPs. Divide by 8.

2 Mbps = 1024 x 2 = 2048 kbps = 256 KBps

Please mention your plan. Mostly 200 KBps is considered as good. Where as users averagely get 150 KBps.

To check speed, try speedtest.net or a download from Microsoft.

If you are still facing problems, try portforward.com and choose your modem. Follow the steps. Please note, this will work only for torrents.

I too use UL 750. It has a maximum speed of 256 Kbps or 32 KBps.

Oh. I think you mistook me to be complaining of the speed. I was just sharing the info with the thread starter.
