Every one going after Rs.4200 plan, Has anyone usedRs.2000 or Rs.2500 plan.I don't want to downgrade my BSNL Dataone connection to 512kbps for the sake of bandwidth, Also I am not sure if i should be able to use Rs.4200 plan, sometimes ultra poor speed etc etcso to start with I am planning to do a Rs.2000/2500 recharge in a day or two.Can anyone confirm this plan still works ?As portal.bsnl hates my region, i'll be doing this recharge from BSNL Office itself.

^ I am using the 2500 plan (3 month Unlimited 3G) since 12th of December.I think you will be able to go for that plan till the end of this month. And yes it will be better if you do from the office rather then relying on the portal.I did my recharge through a retail bsnl outlet (the stores which do top ups/recharges/ of all the telcos out there). Told the fellow to do a Easy Recharge of 2500. He was cautious a bit as the amount was large,so he confirmed it with his head office guy and told me "2500-3month-3G-unlimited".I confirmed and now I am on unlimited 3G since then.Speeds are the same and no difference.

better is 2500 so that it will cost around 833rs/month.I am also planning to recharge for 2500 because i dont have 4200rs now . Now only have 3000+. i will only get money after 15 days. And my trial 7 days 3g will expire after 3 days. I cant live with out internet.

I am using 2000 plan, I get good download speeds of close to 3.5 MBPS in Hyd, off late from the last week I am in Vijayawada I get a speed of 5.3 Mbps, so i dont think the plan you choose matters. BTW i did the recharge online trough the BSNL portal, it worked like a charm....

Thanks guys, I'll do the recharge today or on monday,
I wanted to try online top up, as it gets debited from bank account and helps me justify it while making annual accounts
but Rs.2500 is huge amount to be taken risk for, as don't know if HDFC top up will work for it

Anyone used HDFC Online for 2500 top-up yet.

Also i need to buy the UMG1831 modem this month so can't spend 4200+3000 :-(

^ Dont Do a "TOP UP". Its a recharge which you need to do and not a top up.Top up will get you talktime only and not 3g data plan.Keep that in mind while recharging.

Thanks for this information, Have you recharged it from HDFC ever ?
I can try this right now once you confirm.

Edit: Seems can't recharge it online from HDFC now

Recharge Limit per transaction - Rs 1,000
Recharge Limit per mobile number per day - Rs 1,000

Another edit
Tried rechargeitnow.com and it says
this bsnl number is not in service, please choose another
number is in service, and not expired, makes incoming/outgoing calls
Seems BSNL wants me to use local office to recharge it on monday.

^ those thrid party recharge services dont allow for bigger value recharges.I had done a recharge of 1500 and topup of 50 few months back from onlinesbi (using the portal bsnl),that was before the festive plans were announced.

HDFC used to work earlier, I've read here only, someone used it for 4200 recharge, now they seem to have put a Rs.1k limit.I'll check with local store/BSNL office on monday, however I'll be writing a letter to most senior officers of BSNL within next 24 hours to have u.p.(east) enabled for 3G top up from portal itself.
