it happens very often to me too.. happens usually when i'm downloading using accelerators.. but not during normal browsing.. don't bother.. you can set your dialer to redial automatically when the connection drops..by the way.. i had tried the hotfix but didn't work for me.. looks like BSNL purposely disconnects it.. :(

When the 3G (UMTS / HSDPA) signal drops, the device (phone/data card) tries to latch on to 2G / 2.5G. Connection drops. Please try restricting the network mode to only 'UMTS' or 'HSDPA'

Is there anyway to dial automatically when the 3G connection drops with the modem.I am using a E1750 modem and wanted to know if there is any option where you can dial to the APN from else where other than from the modem software..So that when the connection drops it dials automatically....Or is the same option available in the modem software?

You can dial using the dailer that comes with windows... no need to use Huawei software... moreover, huawei software itself creates a new dial up connection when you create a new profile... in Control panel>>network connections, you can see it... right click on it to get properites.. there you can find an option to redial when a connection is dropped.. unfortunately i'm unable to post a screenshot now..

You mean like for connection the broadband connection?

but where do you specify the APN settings?

yes.. like dialing for broadband connection.. i think the default apn (bsnlnet) will be used.. anyway it will work..i've tried it.. try using MDMA - a Mobile Data Monitoring Application

just found it here: https://broadband.forum/bsnl-3g/45781-bsnl-3g-mobile-services-your/2/#post423786

The BSNL 3G data card card gives blazing fast speeds but comes with a downside...It gets disconnected frequently! This way you cannot fire and forget your downloads. It may get disconnected as soon as it see's your back.

There is workaround for this problem. That is to use windows dial-up.

This works for me and should work for you, still DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!. I dont take any responsibilty of something going wrong to your system.

1) I assume that you have installed the bundled software inside the USB 3G data card and you can connect the 3G internet form it AND the device is connected to the system.

2) Open Device Manager. The "HSPADataCard USB Modem" should be listed there. Right click to open properties. In the open window choose the "Advanced" tab. In the 'extra initialization commands:' enter at+cgdcont=1,"IP","bsnlnet". click OK to close the window.

3) From Control Panel open "Network and Sharing Center". From the left hand pane click "Change Adapter Settings". You should see a dial-up connection for your 3G Modem.Right click and choose properties. Select the "General" Tab. In the Phone Number box enter *99# Create a shortcut to the dial-up connection on your desktop. (If not you will have to create Dial-up connection in "Network and Sharing Center". See bottom of the post)

4) Select the "Options" tab make changes as follows :

Check "Display progress while connecting"
Uncheck all others.
Enter "Redial attempts" 99
Enter "Time between redial attempts" 1 Second
Enter "Idle time before hanging "never"

Check "Redial if line is dropped"

Click OK

DONE!
Right Click the dial-up connection and click "Connect"
Your internet should be running now.

Now windows automatically attempts to connects to the modem if line is dropped.

Note: Dont connect through your BSNL software! It should stay running in the background. you may minimize it to sys tray.

[To Create Dial-up connection open "Network and Sharing Center". Click "Setup a new connection or network". Click next. Follow the instructions. Enter phone no as *99# when prompted. Leave username and password blank when prompted.]

The above method is not working for me...In step 3 I am not getting any Dial Up kind of properties...Also when I dial to *99# with blank username and password its not getting connected..What I dont understand is that how the modem will know which APN to connect to?
