I used to get a max of 1.7/1.8 mbps when it was only broadband and modem showed as much.

Now modem shows 6 mbps, accounting for the additional IPTV bandwidth, and sometimes I get internet speeds upto 2.9 / 3 mbps.

So, they try to divide it up, but looks like it's not accurately possible.

From what I know, they configure virtual circuits on your modem. Now internet/IPTV work on different VCs. And the bandwidth is controlled at VC level so even if your modem shows 6MBPS, you will not know how much it is configured for your internet VC. It is not like both of them share the whole 6 MBPS otherwise higher usage on either end would impact the other. I have 256kbps UL plan. I have never seen it exceed it. I have iptv from Sept 2007.

true ... (the sometimes 2.9/3.0 mbps is as shown in the BSNL Speed Test) - anyway as long as the bandwidth is not shared and we get good speeds :thumbsup:
