Hi...
I had no such problems in the past, but I just got stunned to see my usage details.
I have Home 1800 Plan and Night 2am-8am is free for this plan.

Have a look at my Usage Screenshot.
They have charged me 2 nights for this night period. Am I right ??

Can I show this to them and sue their officials now ??

Let me know, if im correct or not and if they have done this wrong or not.. I have to get them on knees tomorrow. :readtherules::readtherules::readtherules:

I have been extra charged with around 3GB of data transfer. I gonna kill BSNL ..

How will you prove ? The start time is not after 2.00 am. There is a bug in BSNL system. You need to switch off and On your modem a little after 2.00 am and a little before 8.00 am such that the start and end time falls in the 2-8 time slot. Lodge a complaint with the authorities concerned.

Try Imran's Broadband Utility or batch files to automate the process.

yeah, technically, u cant prove it..coz consider this, @ 2mbps u can download around 2Gb in 3hrs..so they can argue tht u downloaded all that b4 2am

I know..
But, they are again in the trap.

Look, how it works for me.
I work from 2pm afternoon to 5am morning.

But I never restart my modem, so its just one connection and one IP without any break. But it always worked this way,
2pm - 2am : xxxxx kb
2am-5am : 0kb

But this time, it shows full time span till 6am, that means, they have counted my free time.
Got me ??

@qubesys,I am sorry but you cannot sue them. You have to restart your modem at or after 2 am. This is a prob at their end. You had got to atleast disconnect and reconnect the internet at 2 am. To be on the safe side, always reconnect at 2.10 am.

What the SUMMARY shows at the top?Chargeable units less free NU ?Now try to keep the usage within limits. If you have automated downloads etc, better to reprogram your modem/scheduler/Download Manager etcto switch off at about 0155 and restart at 0205 AMAgain switch off at 0755 AM.Or if you want to try for a bonus downloadrestart at 0757AM and switch off at 0827AM( may be recorded as free usage!!!)Many users have reported 30 minute block time breakduring the transition period/s.same way usage 0155 to 0225 AM will be charged !In this forum, repeatedly, users have been advised to follow this procedure .Para two: There is a remote chance that the mixed up usage may be split later and billed correctly.

Ex-BSNL broadband user here. Have used it for a year. No reboot required as per my knowledge. I've used it for over a year without any reboots. Billing was fine. :readtherules:

Tip: Reboot is recommended.

Yes, you are right , but now I think, its rwquired lol. :pleasehelp:I have been using it since an year, but no issues till the previous week.
