I have BSNL Combo 500C plan. It was working fine till 15 days back, i had to get my port changed at BSNL exchange, subsequently they reset my login at BSNL server also. Since then I am facing the problem that my connection needs to reconnect after every 15 MB download. It has nothing to do with time but size of download. Further I was geting d/w speed of approx 230 Kbps but not it is ~200 Kbps and never reached to 230 Kbps.I am using Siemens SL2_141 modem, Vista OS, IE-8 and McAfee I may add that my modem is configured ( defined gateway etc) and was working fine with same configuration. My ipconfig details are :Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : mps-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . Welcome to Newlook broadbandforum.co! Please go to Network settings page and disable IPV6. Unse these dns 8.8.8.8 ( google ) and 208.67.220.220 ( opendns ) feedback.

After uncheking IPV6 unable to connect.

unable to understand "Unse these dns 8.8.8.8 ( google ) and 208.67.220.220 ( opendns )
feedback."

failed to understand why all this has happend because nothing has changed ?

I have mentioned that otherwise it is working perfectly mean no DSL blinking etc. Speed is almost perfect, also if I am not downloading it stays connected for hours. But there is some setting somewhere which marks the dowload size and re-connects after fixed limit

I am also facing the same problem of disconnection, though it has nothing to do with the download. The disconnection happens rather randomly, sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 2-3 hours.

Recently BSNL setup a new exchange near my place and my connection was shifted to this exchange. I had faced severe problem due to this for over 3 months. Phone line used to be dead for 3 weeks at a stretch and broadband very unreliable. The setup seems to have stabilized a bit now, but for this sickening disconnection problem. It is particularly annoying when I connect to my office network over VPN.

Nothing has changed from my side. I dread calling BSNL, fearing that they will mess up further :-(

Sometimes the BSNL servers can be intermittent or fail.

so using these DNS may improve the connection. TRY.
Give feedback.

Appended is my usage details and breakdown status. It is clear it has nothing to do with time intervels but size of download. Of late iy is learnt from BSNL that there is earting problem in my line ( which they will rectify in due course) . Is it possible that breadown occurs frequently when downloading at Max speed rather that browsing ( which compratively requires very limited download). Appened is also my DSL status. I am using DAP 9.3 for downloads & speedbit video accelerator. I have un-installed & re-installed the same but with same result.

I wish to add that I have connected my modem to Laptop and was able to downlaod approx 50 MB without any break but is was downloaded through windows(XP) default download ( without any external Download manager) ( multiple downloads - 3 simultaneoulsy at speed ranging from 15-35 Kbs each).
