BSNL Broadband
Hi all,I need all the halp I can get with this issue thats been eating my head for so long.I have shortlisted 4 ADSL modem cum Wifi routers for my BSNL broadband network at home.. models are-1)Netgear Rangemax DG834N Wireless N router with built in DSL modem2)Netgear DGN2000 Wireless N router with built in DSL modem3)Netgear DG834Gv5 wireless G router with built in DSL modem4)Linksys WAG160N Wireless -N ADSL2 modem-routerNow.. my main query is- are these models compatible with BSNL broadband?secondly, I went to the BSNL office in Mysore, and asked them about the Type IV modem - they said type II & Type IV modems were out of stock.. and will be for some time to come. So that rules out getting a cheaper modem :whistle:Are there any other alternatives?.. I want an ADSL modem cum Wifi router with 4 LAN ports, so that I can hookup my VoIP and also a few other devices..

Not sure about capabilities of the 4 devices you mentioned. BSNL gives PPPoE so all you need in a DSL modem is to be able to dial PPPoE. You'd of course need your user ID and password to feed to the modem. I'd safely assume all the 4 devices you mentioned support PPPoE. Check which DSL flavor the modem is providing, should go for ADSL2+ capable modem. ADSL2+ better than ADSL or ADSL2.

1.What is the present modem/router you are using ?.....Give details of make/model number etc.2......How do you intend to deploy your additional computers/laptop /printer/ scanner/webcam etc ?3........Mention details of your VOIP set up .4. All 4 units mentioned by you will work for BSNL BB and VOIP.
