I have two BSNL broadband connections, Home 250 and UL750, on two different phone lines, being used on two different computers. The problem is whenever the UL750 connection is connected and i start the Home 250 connection the UL750 connection gets disconnected. The internet wont work again until i disconnect the Home 250 connection and switch off its modem. If both the connections some how get connected at the same time I won't get more than 50 kbps on the UL750 connection. I am using PPPoe protocol for UL750 and bridging for Home 250Can some1 help me with this and can I get the UL750 connection to work properly.I contacted BSNL people and they couldn't do nething about it.

1.mention modem model/s you use. confirm set up. Line 1 ==adsl splitter1==>. modem1===> computer 1 Dialer Home 250 Id abcd PW xxxxLine 2 ==adsl splitter2===>modem2==> computer 2 UL750 "AlwaysOn"Id pqrs PW yyyy2.Since the ISP is same change Modem Default Gateway to 192.168.1.10 for Line 2.3.You cannot combine both connections to get increased/ combined speed.4. Post Ipconfig/all for both computers.

#This set up is correct. None of the connections is always on.

#Modems:
UL750 - ZTE Corporation ZXDSL531B(Black one). Running on WIFI(Problem exists even on using cable). PPPoe protocol.

Home 250 - ZTE Corporation ZXDSLB31(Black one). Without WIFI. Bridging protocol.

#Both the lines(different phone numbers) are connected to different modems which are connected to different systems. Systems not connected to each other through LAN or nething else.

#Problem still remains even if TCP/IP properties are set to automatically detect settings.

#One intereting thing I confirmed today:
UL750 is on and working.>Home250's modem is switched on.> DSL link gets disconnected on UL750.> DSL link wont get connected again on UL750.(Internet won't work on UL750)

Home250 is on and working.>UL750's modem is switched on.> DSL link gets disconnected on Home250.> But link gets connected again on Home250.(Intenet will start working again on Home250)

If both modems are switched on at the same time and you reset or shutdown one of the modems.Link gets disconnected on the other.

I think both of your phone lines have been interconnected at a joint.I faced the same problem but only during rains.Then I rewired both the phone lines and everything is working fine.Try picking up both the phones at the same time you will find some noise in one of the phones.

Just a wild try.1.Change DNS in Home 250 to 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222. (open DNS)2.Keep the modems away from each other.3.With both modems on check Telephone instrument/s . any hissing noise?Splitter/s suspect. 4. feedback.

This is really a strange and unique problem. AFAIK, the problem is not concerned with any of the PC, splitter, modem or OS.There's some problem (probably wiring problem) at DP (Distribution Point) (which is usually located in the parking of your building) or in the MDF (Main Distribution Frame) at your local exchange. You need to discuss with some higher level BSNL officer.

@couger.
Yes a strange problem as mentioned.
I have identical setup but different ISP's. ( using Modem IP 192.168.1.1 default both. )
can use both BB (different speeds,) at the same time in different computers.
Try changing UL750 modem IP address to say 192.168.1.4
Or try the USB port IP will be 192.168.1.2
Para two: from POST No 1.
I contacted BSNL people and they couldn't do nething about it.
Presume problem is not felt in the phone system:
when you use different phones at the same time.
This will eliminate line problem doubts..

@shantam2005

Yes there is some crossconnection among the phone lines and it rains every now and then these days.Theres crossconnection with other lines at home as well.
I will ask get the lines rewired and give u the feedback.

@iChaitanya
Can you tell me some details about DP (Distribution Point) (which is usually located in the parking of your building) or in the MDF (Main Distribution Frame) at your local exchange.
There is no DP in our building. I think the phone lines are connected directly to the telephone wire pole.

It is tough to explain this problem to the folks at the local exchange.

DP (Distribution Point) - This is the red box that BSNL fits in your parking area where all the wires coming from that particular building are interconnected with the wires that goto the exchange.

MDF (Main Distribution Frame) - Main distribution frame - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why don't you discuss this with some higher level officer? Life could get much easier, you know!

Even I have two connections that I use alternatively using one modem.

You could tell those exchange people to change both your lines and ports. Sometimes ports can also be faulty. :(
