BSNL Broadband: Port forwarding for Nokia Siemens 1600 router

Hi,

I have tried a lot of ways to port forward in my router. When i checked the Bittorrent client it says,

Checking port 44512 on 117.201.11.44
OK! Port 44512 is open and accepting connections.
You will be able to receive incoming BitTorrent connections.

========================================

But still i am getting the same old download/upload speeds. Port forwarding doesnt seem to work. Can you guys help me. I need the entire step by step procedure to configure both router and client.

I use a BSNL 750UL plan.

Reduce the upload speed in Torrents to min default value.
Check speed in Airtel
Download tcp/ Optimizer from speed guide .net and make settings.
Re check speed.
This month your speed might have been doubled to 512 Kbps
max possible D/L speed 64 KB/sec ( * conditions apply )

Thanks dude, I have already tried changing the upload limit to a low value, but i cannot see much changes in my speed. It seems I am getting the very same speeds before port forwarding.Can you please assist me step by step in port forwarding...?
